The PLEXR® Plasma Pen does NOT involve needle sticks for blood plasma as the name would suggest, it is an energy device that works at a very superficial epidermal level and significantly tightens, lifts, resurfaces, and regenerates the skin by boosting the natural production of collagen and elastin. The PLEXR® Plasma Pen offers the advantage of treating limited areas of the face or neck without having to treat an entire large surface area.

What to Expect from Skin Resurfacing
Cleared by the Food and Drug Administration, the PLEXR® Plasma Pen is considered the next generation of anti-aging technology for promoting collagen production. Using plasma energy, the pen's energy fibroblasts the skin to make microabrasions that heal from new collagen and elastin growth to produce firmer and more youthful skin.
The PLEXR® Plasma Pen is a very mild superficial form of skin resurfacing that avoids potentially serious complications from other deeper resurfacing modalities.
The end result is skin redness, mild swelling and multiple tiny superficial dots which heal and scab off within 3-5 days. Other than a soothing skin moisturizer for comfort and a mineral sunblock, no post-care medications are necessary. The quick recovery from a PLEXR® Plasma Pen procedure is unlike the recovery time for a deeper laser session may last anywhere form 1-3 weeks depending on the intensity of the session.
All patients need to limit their sun exposure following their PLEXR® Plasma Pen resurfacing session and apply sun protection frequently. It's important to avoid interfering with the recovery process to prevent scarring and protect your skin from environmental exposure. Once the scabs flake off, your skin should feel smoother while also appearing rejuvenated, younger, and clearer.
Although the procedure is generally comfortable, for those patients with very high levels of anxiety or low levels of tolerance to pain, we offer the use of PRO-NOX®, a device that delivers a mixture of inhaled Oxygen/Nitrous which numbs the patient's sensations for several minutes, enough to allow the doctor to complete the procedure. The patient recovers 100% at the end of the procedure.

I have been a patient of Dr. Art Quintanilla’s for several years. My treatments have included Botox, Juvéderm, lip fillers, and facials to name a few. It is always a pleasure to see Dr Art and his amazing staff, especially Missy. On the phone Missy is most accommodating when scheduling my appointments. In the office, without exception, I always receive a warm and friendly welcome from her, and an offer of "can I get you something to drink"? Dr. Art is incredible and has a keen eye and magical hands. He checks and double checks himself, and you never feel rushed by him or his assistants. I have experienced only positive outcomes from their expertise and exemplary skills, and I know that I will be comfortable and well cared for. Also, depending on the procedure, that I’ll be given clear instructions for home care and optimal healing, as well as ice, arnica, or antibiotic ointment to minimize bruising and eliminate infection.
